Kayla Schuller, a current student at N.C. State, dives into
her final fall and spring semesters as an English major. Schuller finds
interest in her newest courses that focus mainly on writing techniques and core
ideas that she will apply to her upcoming internship and future career goals.
“I am excited to gain knowledge and practice in the various
ways that I can use my degree following graduation in May of 2013. My college
career has passed right before my eyes, but I am ready to finish it out and see
what the real world has to offer,” she said.
Schuller hopes to land an internship that includes working
with professionals in order to gain experience in the field that she wants to
pursue after graduation. She has been thinking about going into teaching due to
her love of children, but is contemplating finding a job in technical writing.
Among her studies
Schuller works part- time at an elementary school as a program coordinator. She
has adapted to a demanding schedule by working while being in school full time since
freshman year.
In the meantime, she is
keeping her motivation up and enjoying her final fall semester as an
undergraduate student.
“It’s not easy juggling a job and school work at the same
time, but it keeps me busy, focused, and prepared for the future.”
